Yesterday, we performed at Grand Hyatt Hotel in Kuala Lumpur for a company event called ADROWS.
The performance last night was slightly different where we played a String Duo setting instead of a String Quartet. This means, only two of us performed. They were Sophia on the cello, and Wani on the violin.
They performed three songs of duet between Violin and Cello at the start of the event to officially kick-off the ceremony.
The three songs that they played were:
- O Sole Mio
- Por Una Cabeza
- Canon in D
It was a short yet pleasant performance. Also, it was an honour to perform as the opening performance for such prestigious event.
Thank you ADROWS for allowing us to be part of your event, even if it was only two of our members.

Yesterday, on May 24th, we performed for Majlis Engagement Bersama Graduan Cemerlang Tajaan MARA at Premiera Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.
We played at the beginning of the ceremony while the graduates and the VIPs were having their dinner. We performed for 30 minutes with music including pieces such as Sempurna (Andra & The Backbone), Penglipur Lara (Hazama), and Just The Way You Are (Bruno Mars).
It was such a lovely event, and we are all very grateful that MARA let us be part of their event.
Also, we also would like to thank Stephen Tseu, who played the cello on behalf of Sophia last night.
For some people, it was an even more important day. Like a couple named Risberg and Rhema for example, they got married yesterday.
in the morning at the Saint Peter's Church, Bangsar
We played for two of their ceremonies, the wedding ceremony at the church in Bangsar, as well as the wedding reception at Civic Centre, Petaling Jaya.
During the church ceremony, in the morning, we played for the walk-in of the bridal party, where we played Canon in D. Then, we played for the walk-in of the bride and her father, where we played Wagner's Wedding March. After the whole ceremony was over, and they were officially married, we played the Mendelssohn's Wedding March as they walked out. We must say, it was just like in those movies with all these classic wedding songs.
at the wedding reception, Civic Hall, Petaling Jaya
Our performance this time was slightly different, it is different because out of four of us, only Wani, the first violinist can play. At first we wondered if we should carry on with this as a Strings Attached gig at all. However, Risberg and Rhema credited the performance to Strings Attached, which means all three wonderful musicians that played yesterday were playing on behalf of Strings Attached.
For that, we were very grateful, and appreciate their time very much.
Thank you to Nasirah who played the 2nd violin on behalf of Po Ann.
Thank you to Joanne who played the viola on behalf of Ayeshah.
Thank you Ershad who played the cello on behalf of Sophia.
Last but not least, thank you to the newly weds for putting their trust in us to perform for their big day.
Congratulations to you, and may this be the start of your happily ever after.
Thank you to the three wonderful musicians who played on behalf of Strings Attached
Yesterday, we performed for a company gala event at Westin Hotel in Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur.
It was a grand event, where we played simple and light music during the cocktail, and dining as well.
We played music ranging from classical to pop music.
There were some obstacles in getting our part for the event right as there seem to be some communication issues on when and where exactly we were suppose to be at in the event.
Thankfully, we pushed through it and handled everything professionally.
We would say that it was part of the job, we can't expect all gigs to be a joyful ride in the park. Sometimes we encountered some bumps along the way, but the best thing we could do is to keep a positive mind and be as professional as we possibly can :)
At the end of the day, despite the difficulties that we might had, we do hope that the guests enjoyed our performance that night.
This may not be our first gig of 2015, but this is our first gig with the complete members. So, that was something we all enjoyed.
Remember how we kept saying that we are in planning of recording a new video together after all the changes with the members? After so much planning, we have finally done it!
We recorded four songs:
G.F. Handel - Arrival of the Queen of Sheba
P.Ramlee - Merpati Dua Sejoli
Bruno Mars - Marry You
Chrstina Perri - A Thousand Years
Some of you might already noticed, the video that we put in this blog has been updated. You can see a trailer-ish video of all four songs in there for promotional purposes. Full video for each songs will also be available, don't worry. We will upload it within this week or next. You can go to our Youtube Channel (link on the right side) to check out all our videos. Do like, comment and subscribed while you're at it!
Anyway, check out the video that we put up at the top of the page of this blog, and we hope you will enjoy it.
Yesterday, we played at Publika for the last time. It was a really fun one because the people enjoyed our playing, we enjoyed playing for them as well. It was really fun.
We admit, playing in shopping malls usually not the easiest thing to do because they are usually noisy, and for string quartet, we rely on listening to each other a lot. So, when we can't really hear ourselves because of the surrounding noise, it can get challenging. Nevertheless, we had fun and we are truly grateful at the positive response from people around us.
With that said, yesterday's gig at Publika officially became our last gig of 2014 :')
What an amazing year it has been for all of us.
So, to recap, here are 5 pictures, for all 5 days we played at Publika.
Last but not least, a very special thanks to Aizat for sitting in for Ayeshah when she was not around, and as well as Ershad for sitting in for Sophia when she was not around. It was really fun working with both of you guys.
First of all, we would like to wish everyone a joyous Merry Christmas. May you have a blessed celebration with family and friends. If you don't celebrate Christmas, then have a good holiday :)
Anyway, yesterday, on December 24th, we had our fourth gig (out of 5) at Publika. There were less people, which was understandable because it was during lunch hour, and also, people probably preparing for Christmas eve.
As we mentioned before, Ayeshah and Sophia were not around, so Aizat and Ershad took over their spot. It went fine as usual. We played some Christmas songs, Classical and pop songs.
Those who walked pass us seemed to enjoy it and it didn't matter how few people watched us, as long as there's one people enjoying the music, we will be grateful :)
So, tomorrow, on December 26, will be our very last performance at Publika, and quite possibly the last gig of the year. Unless, of course, something last minute comes up.
Whatever may happen, we enjoyed playing at Publika, and are looking forward for our final show tomorrow from 12-1pm ^_^
Picture from yesterday:
we kinda looked good in green, don't you think so?
On December 21st, which was a Sunday, we had another gig at Publika. This time it was special because we have the complete member playing!
This will be our third out of five performances in Publika for Christmas. Which means, we have two more to go. On the 24th and 26th. Before and after Christmas.
Unfortunately, for those two days, Ayeshah and Sophia will not be around. We will have Aizat returning again for viola and Ershad to play the cello. Ershad played with us before when were performing for an event in Johor.
Anyway, we have another good news, remember the video recording that we mentioned in previous posts? We've finally done it! Once we finished editing it, we will upload it to our Youtube channel. So, stay tuned!
Do come and support us for our final two performance at Publika on the 24th and 26th!

Yes, we are back again. Throughout this month, we will be performing 5 times at The Boulevard at Publika. Well, we just had our first one on November 30th, so 4 more to go!
You can come to watch and support us on:
December 7 @ 3pm
December 21 @ 7pm
December 24 and 26 @ 12pm
I must say, that December is a busy month, so, the only day where all four of us can play is on December 21! So that will be an interesting one!
Here are the pictures from the our last performance on November 30th! Thanks to the talented Aizat who will be seating in for Ayeshah for every performance that she couldn't play.

Recently on Saturday (November 8, 2014), we performed for a wedding at Matrade Exhibition & Convention Centre.
The performance was a little different this time. Instead of playing a string quartet, we played a string duo.
Wani Ismail and Sophia performed together for this lovely event as a violin and cello duo.
We played songs ranging from classical music by Handel and Mozart to a more popular music such as The Girl from Ipanema, A Thousand Years and Getaran Jiwa.
We played before the actual reception starts while the guest were arriving. It was lovely to see some people who stopped and listened to us playing. Also, it was lovely to be able to be part of such lovely night.
We hoped that the guests enjoyed our music, and congratulations to the newly wed and may marriage life be a blessing to you and your future family.
After the wedding, the duo girls managed to stop by Publika to enjoy some wonderful chocolate dish at Salon du Chocolat. It was such a lovely end to a great night ^_^
To those of you who read our previous post, we have mentioned about the situation of our violist, Wei Yi who decided to leave due to bigger commitments in her life at the moment. As sad as we were by her decision, we respect her priorities. Due to that, we had to postpone the video recording that we planned and had mentioned in one of our previous post. Now, come the good news, we have a new violist! Her name is Ayeshah Hassan. She is an alumni from ASWARA and she plays both the violin and viola. She has a lot of experience in performing on both the violin and the viola. You may find out more about her in the Bio section in our facebook page, or our website, in which you will find the links at the side of this blog. We are looking forward to work with her, and if everything goes well, you will be seeing a new video from us before the year ends *fingers crossed* ^_^
Ayeshah Hassan, the violist of Strings Attached Quartet
Only yesterday, on the 12th of October, we performed for a special event for Fess and Faiza for their special day. It was a simple yet luxurious wedding dinner held at Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur which includes only close friends and family. We, from the Strings Attached is happy to be part of such lovely night. We played mostly English songs such as My Way from Frank Sinatra, Top of the World from The Carpenters, Viva La Vida from Coldplay, as well as a few instrumental music such as Por Una Cabeza from the movie Scent of a Woman, Portuguese Love Theme from the movie Love Actually, and Libertango by Astor Piazzolla. We are glad to hear that the newly weds as well as the guests enjoyed our music.
Also, we would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Cheryl and Xin Tian who were willing to sit in for our quartet. Po Ann was not able to play since she is out of town at the moment. As for Wei Yi, sadly to say, due to other commitment, she is no longer playing with us, and as of now, the viola position will remain vacant until further notice. So, you might see us changing violists from time to time, but no worries, we will still bring you the best quality music for your enjoyment! ^_^
To conclude, here are a few pictures taken from last night. Congratulation to Fess and Faiza and may marriage life be a blessing to you and your family :)
Keeping to the trend, we think group selfie should be done :)
Our lovely stage to perform
The beautiful wedding cake
Thanks Fess and Faiza for providing us with such wonderful dinner at Mosaic, Mandarin Oriental
Again, keeping to the trend, taking a picture of our food is a must. Even if it's just the desert
For the last time, congratulations to the newly wed!!
As you can clearly see in the poster above, DPac will become a host to an Italian Opera performance called L'Eliser d'Amore (The Elixir of Love). It is not a common thing to have an opera performance here in Malaysia, so this is definitely something you all will want to watch. On top of that, one of our group member, Wani Ismail, the violinist, will be playing along side the orchestra that will accompany the opera. The performance will be held on October 8,9,11 and 12. With the one on the 12th as afternoon concert. Do come and support them! They all work really hard for this concert. Besides, it's not everyday you get to see an Italian Opera here in Malaysia! It's fun! Come and watch them give their best show ^_^
We decided to update our FB cover photo. Considering our FB Profile Page picture only contains our logo, why not include our faces in the cover photo.
This is not a recent picture, unfortunately :(
Well, honestly, life as a quartet group has been rather slow lately. Everyone is currently busy that it is quite difficult to gather and do something together. Hopefully, in the near future, we will get an event to play for.
To those who don't know our Facebook page, you can find it at the side of this blog. Just press the link and it will direct you to the Facebook page.
As for future projects, at this moment, our plan is to do a new recording of our playing. Because, as some of you might know, Sophia just joined us, after Jennifer left to pursue her studies in Singapore. So, we don't have any recordings with Sophia in it. So, that is our plan for now. Hope to get that done before the year ends.
Hello there lovely people of the world! Today, just thought of sharing something music related. Same song but from three different generations. We all know the recent Disney movie called Maleficent that was released not too long ago. Not sure if you have watched it, if you have, what do you think of it? If you haven't, you should really give it a shot because it is not like the typical Disney's movies. You might like it.
Anyway, the song that we talked about before was called Once Upon A Dream. Now, to those who have watched the Disney Classics Sleeping Beauty will definitely know about this song. However, in case you don't know, that song was taken from a ballet written by a great 19th century Russian composer named Tchaikovsky. Disney took the waltz from the Sleeping Beauty ballet and put lyrics into it, and thus, it becomes Once Upon A Dream, that most people know as today. As Maleficent comes, another version of Once Upon A Dream appeared. This time, it's sang by Lana Del Rey, and she gave it a whole new mood. It kinda suits Maleficent, so, it works!
Now, let us show you the original version of Once Upon A Dream. Which is, the one written by the genius, Tchaikovsky. It is an instrumental ballet. So, I hope you enjoy this original version of this song just like we do ^_^
Have you listened to it yet? We sure hope you do. What do you think of it? Isn't it beautiful? Now, let's move on to the version from Sleeping Beauty. Of course, by this time, it is known as Once Upon A Dream.
Very nostalgic, is it not? Well, at least for some of us, it might. So, in this version, it is pretty much very typical style of Disney classic movies. A song that sparks the romance. We've all heard it, like Beauty and the Beast, A Whole New World, Can You Feel the Love Tonight? and so much more. So, this is pretty much one of them. Which one do you prefer so far? The classic instrumental version or the Disney classic version? Ok, now that you have both songs in mind, let us listen to the most recent version of this song, which is the one sang by Lana Del Rey.
What do you think? A little too dark for your taste? Or something that just defines you when it comes to good music? It is all very subjective, there is no right or wrong answer, there is no good or bad version...it is all a matter of preference really. Just because you loved the version by Lana Del Rey, doesn't mean everyone else will feel the same way, but that does not make them (or you) have a bad taste in music...you just have different preference when it comes to music. That is the great thing about music, it speaks to everyone.
